⏰ Daily Automation Scheduler

The automation runs once per day to send birthday and holiday emails. You need to schedule it using a free service like cron-job.org. Set it up once and it runs forever.

https://kxjrgjgyqcwnjpkkkybb.functions.supabase.co/birthday-holiday-automation?token=lwsauto2026secure
  • 1Go to cron-job.org and create a free account.
  • 2Click "Create cronjob". Paste the URL above into the URL field.
  • 3Set the schedule to Every day at 8:00 AM (choose Custom: minute=0, hour=13, which is 8AM Central / 1PM UTC).
  • 4Set Request Method to GET. Enable Save responses to debug.
  • 5Save the cron job. You're done — emails will go out automatically every morning.
📧 Email Sending Setup (Resend)

⚠️ Action Required — Verify Your Sending Domain

Before birthday and holiday emails can be sent from rod@legacywealthservices.com, you need to add DNS records to verify your domain with Resend. This takes about 10 minutes and only needs to be done once.

Step 1 — Get your DNS records from Resend

  1. Go to resend.com/domains and log in (or create a free account)
  2. Click "Add Domain" and type legacywealthservices.com
  3. Resend will show you 3 DNS records to add — copy them all

Step 2 — Add the records to your DNS provider

Log in to wherever your domain is registered (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and add these records in your DNS settings. They'll look something like this:

TypeName / HostValuePurpose
TXT send.legacywealthservices.com v=spf1 include:amazonses.com ~all SPF — proves you're allowed to send email
CNAME resend._domainkey.legacywealthservices.com p.resend.com DKIM — authenticates your emails
MX send.legacywealthservices.com feedback-smtp.us-east-1.amazonses.com (priority 10) Bounce handling

💡 Important Notes

• DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, but usually verify within 30 minutes.
• After adding the records, go back to resend.com/domains and click "Verify".
• Use your exact DNS records from Resend — the values above are approximate examples. The actual values from Resend will be unique to your account.
• Once verified, the green checkmark will appear and emails will start going out.

Step 3 — Test with the "Run Now" button

After verifying your domain, click "Run Now" in the top-right to trigger a test run. If anyone has a birthday today, they'll receive an email immediately.

Holiday Email Settings

Current Configuration

Holiday emails are currently sent to contacts with Lead Stage = "Client" only. This keeps holiday messages exclusive to your existing clients, not cold leads.

To expand to all contacts (Suspects, Prospects, etc.), let Rodney know and we can update the edge function to include all lead stages. This can be a powerful touchpoint for nurturing leads.
